Exhibitions, shows, cinema... there's no shortage of things to do in Paris. Add concerts to the mix, and you've got the cultural capital par excellence! Every year, the City of Light offers live music lovers a host of concerts of all kinds. From rock to rap, jazz to classical, French variety to electro, metal to reggae... there's something for everyone. And there are plenty of concert and performance venues in Paris, giving Parisians and Ile-de-France residents the chance to satisfy their musical desires.
One of the must-see venues is, of course, theOlympia. Originally a music hall, it was transformed into a cinema in 1929, and was reborn from the ashes in 1954 when Bruno Coquatrix took over as director of the Parisian venue. Located on the Boulevard des Capucines, this legendary Parisian venue - which celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2023 - saw a host of talented artists take to the stage in the 60s and 70s, including Georges Brassens, Jacques Brel, Léo Ferré, Édith Piaf, Juliette Gréco and Barbara, as well as Billie Holiday, The Beatles and Johnny Hallyday.
And theOlympia story doesn't stop there. The Parisian venue is set to host many more concerts and artists. The proof is in the shape of these upcoming shows at the Olympia, not to be missed in the months and years to come.
