Ready to plunge into the great History of France? The first Cité de l'Histoire is opening its doors in La Défense's Grande Arche, with a fun, immersive tour of our shared past.

The Cité de l' Histoire offers a unique immersive digital journey through thehistory of France and over 400 important dates!

From the beginning of 2023, visitors will be able to travel back in time and rediscover key moments in our history, thanks to a sensory and visual experience called"La Clef des Siècles". Through 16 rooms, each representing an important era, and guided by actors present for even greater immersion, we wander between different life-size settings, whose sense of detail makes them particularly realistic, meeting Joan of Arc, Charles de Gaulle or even Napoleon (in whose house it's really cold!). A fun way to learn about history that will appeal to all generations, accompanied by the voices of renowned historians Franck Ferrand and Anissa Haddadi.

You'll also have the opportunity to attend a 15-minute sound and light show within a 360° ellipse, immersing you in the life of a great character, between cinema and immersive show, a unique animation that plays with the elements of the decor.

A free-access interactive area is also available to explore 400 historical dates in greater depth, using 25 touch-sensitive terminals that display a fun, animated illustration and explanations on the wall, like a giant timeline. A complete visit to the heart of history, lasting around 2 hours and costing between 19 and 24 euros per person. And it has to be said that the care put into the work over the space of 18 months is well worth the detour!

A not-to-be-missed epic for French history buffs, but also for families and the curious, who'll want to take advantage of the larger-than-life settings!"A rallying point for history lovers", as Franck Ferrand himself puts it!

And for even more history, l'Eternelle Notre-Dame, the famous virtual reality tour of the Paris cathedral, is also available at the Cité de l'Histoire, with its own dedicated ticket. Every Monday evening, from January 23 onwards, a series of lectures will be given by renowned historians, who will share their passion with you at 7pm. A boutique, bookshop and bar-restaurant are open to all, even without a ticket, to prolong the experience or decide to try it out.
