Winter arrives at Le Grand Quartier, with the opening of the winter terrace of this 10th arrondissement hotel until next March. In the hotel 's 300m2 inner courtyard, Babines, the restaurant, unveils a small village of 4 cosy, convivial chalets that take us straight down the ski slopes.
Inside each chalet, a large table d'hôtes welcomes groups of up to 8 guests to enjoy a classic ski vacation dish: Swiss fondue! Chef Théophane Eymard's Swiss fon due, made with Gruyère cheese, Vacherin Fribourgeois PDO and white wine, is available at Grand Quartier in 3 recipes: plain (25€/person), with morels (30€/person) and with truffles (38€/person).
It is served with Mamiche bread, green salad, a selection of French cured meats (coppa d'Ardèche, dried meat, dry sausage, white ham; 15€ for two), gherkins, pommes de terre grenaille and pan-fried mushrooms with parsley. In the glasses, sommelier Nicolas Rebut has selected organic and biodynamic wines from Savoie and Jura, as well as mountain spirits such as Chartreuse and Génépi.
Please note that your chalet can be reserved for 6 or more guests; below that, you'll have to share it. How about a little Swiss fondue?
