Heritage Days 2023 at the Finnish Embassy in Paris

The Journées du Patrimoine return to Paris and the Île-de-France region on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023. It's an opportunity to push open the doors of museums, monuments and unusual, little-known places like the Finnish Embassy, nestled in the capital's 7th arrondissement.

A cultural event much appreciated by the French, the Journées du Patrimoine return on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023, with a new, 40th edition focusing on the themes of " Living Heritage " and " Sports Heritage ".

As every year, the Journées du Patrimoine are an opportunity to push open the doors of numerous museums and monuments,institutions, unusual or hidden places, or to discover little-known anecdotes about parks and gardens during guided walks.

Of course, some places, such as government ministries, are overrun by the curious. But other places are also worth a visit, such as embassies and diplomatic representations of foreign countries. On Saturday, September 16, 2023, discover theFinnish embassy during free tours.

Located in the capital's 7th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the esplanade des Invalides, the Embassy of Finland boasts architecture designed by Finnish architect Veli Paatela, and interior design by Antti Nurmesniemi and Yrjö Randell. What makes this embassy so special? The lamps suspended above the staircase, designed by Alvar Aalto and presented at the 1937 Paris Universal Exhibition. The Finnish Embassy also features several works of contemporary art by Finnish artists. Come and discover them during the Journées du Patrimoine 2023!
