New playground at the Nelson Mandela garden in Paris

A new playground to play soccer, basketball or even ping pong, all sublimated by street artist Romain Froquet: this is what awaits you from Wednesday, December 19, 2018 within the Nelson Mandela garden at Les Halles, Paris.

Children of all ages can now enjoy a new playground right in the heart of Paris. Located in the Jardin Nelson Mandela at Les Halles, this 300 m² playground offers the chance to indulge in a variety of sporting activities, including soccer, basketball and ping pong.

Inaugurated on December 19, 2018, this new space was sublimated by street-artist Romain Froquet. The latter created a giant fresco on the ground, inspired by ethnic art and urban aesthetics.

Accessible free of charge, the playground features a soccer pitch, two half-basketball courts- one for toddlers and one for teenagers and adults - two table-tennis tables and two seating areas with chess sets.

This new playground, supported by the town halls of the 1st and 2nd arrondissements, was born of the desire of a group of children living in these two arrondissements to find a place to play soccer and basketball in their neighborhood. In 2015, the children launched a petition before sending it to the elected representatives of the two town halls, who were apparently very attentive to their request.

See you on December 19, 2018 to discover this new playground.
