Paris cultural life is adapting to the coronavirus pandemic. While the government has announced to ban any gatherings of over 100 people in a closed space, Centre Pompidou has taken measures to limit contamination risks.
This main museum proudly standing in the middle of Beaubourg welcomes art fans thanks to an impressive collection of modern and contemporary (the 1st one in Europe, please!). But facing the Covid-19 threat, centre Pompidou is adapting and is now limiting its access to 1000 people in real time in the exhibition areas. To do so, a counting system has been set up.
At the moment, Centre Pompidou is housing four exhibitions: Christian Boltanski, Neurones, Jeremy Shaw and Yuan Jai. Very soon, artists Christo and Jeanne Claude will be also given pride of place, and in May 2020, Centre Pompidou welcomes an exhibition focusing on painter Henri Matisse, a very expected event in town.
But exhibition rooms are not the only ones to encounter limits because of these new health measures. The library is also involved, and a new rule has been set up: a seat in two should be occupied.
