A new city made of wooden offices, on the outskirts of Paris. This is what BNP Paribas Real Estate developer intends to build starting this summer in the Nanterre-La Défense area by the Seine: an office campus only made of wood. A project called Arboretum, in tribute to the noble material, expected to cover at least 126,000 sqm.
Behind the project, there is BNP Paribas Real Estate developer in partnership with WO2. Both real estate companies have been working on the project since 2016, and entirely finance the construction. Works are said to cost 650 million euros of investments collected by both companies. all in all, the envelop collected includes 220 million euros of personal money, and 430 million euros of loans.
In concrete words, the facility is set in five wooden buildings blending in the modern buildings. Spaced from each other, set in a pleasant geometry, the entire campus includes seven organic restaurants, a 2000sqm gym, and 14,000sqm terraces.
And to top it all, Aboretum Nanterre-La Défense will enjoy a 25-hectare park by the Seine, all around it. A stone’s throw from the Paris Nanterre University campus, and straddling the Hoche eco-neighborhood and the Parc du chemin de l’Île, this new place is likely to become a new and intense economic work area, like the main business district of La Défense.
