McDonald's: vegetable fries to replace potatoes?

Vegetable fries? "Never in a million years", you might as well eat "real" potato fries. However, that's the risky bet McDonald's has taken by offering, as of March 7 and for a few weeks only, vegetable fries, healthier than their potato-based counterparts.

Perhaps as a child (or adult) you hated vegetables and swore by "the fries" to accept what was on your plate? And it wasn't just any fries, no no. The stars in this field were (and still are) those of McDonald's, slipped into the Happy Meal, between the toy and the nuggets for the little ones, or in the Maxi Best Of menu for the biggest appetites.

The aficionados of the fast food brand may not see their Maxi Best Of menu in the same way anymore: from March 7, the famous potatoes of the brand will be replaced by carrot, parsnip and beet fries for a period of three to four weeks, in order to offer a slightly healthier accompaniment to its burger, wrap or nuggets, according to Le Parisien.

To test this new "healthy" proposal in the fast food chain that can be found on every street corner in Paris, no extra charge is required: the menu or the fries alone remain at the same price for the consumer. See you on March 7th to test it!
