Climate activists Greta Thunberg, Vanessa Nakate and Helena Gualinga will be the keynote speakers in Paris at a conversation entitled "L'Activisme fait Bouger les Lignes" to be held on June 22, 2023. The event, to be held at the Théâtre du Châtelet, will highlight the power of climate activism and its essential role in shaping the dynamics of relationships between activists and leaders.
The event, organized by Kite Insights and Silencio Paris, will explore not only the importance of activism, but also the different ways in which activism can be integrated into all areas of society and economic sectors. It will also explore the forms of activism needed to ensure a more secure and equitable future.
The event will be punctuated by two discussions in English. The first, ACTIVISM WORKS, from 4pm to 4:45pm, will explore the changing dynamics between climate activists and leaders. Moderated by Harjeet Singh, with introductory remarks by Camille Etienne, this discussion will highlight climate activism.
The second discussion, PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST, from 4.45pm to 5.30pm, will be a Q&A session featuring climate activists only. Moderated by Laurence Tubiana, with opening remarks by Greta Thunberg, this session will focus on the role of people and their commitment to activism in the fight against climate change.
The event is organized on the occasion of the Summit for a New Global Financial Deal, initiated by Emmanuel Macron, with the aim of reforming climate financing. "Activism Moves the Lines" will bring together a panel of climate activists and prominent leaders to discuss the power of activism.
