The Musée du Luxembourg will be hosting an exceptional nocturne on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to mark the 20th Nuit des Musées in Paris and the Île-de-France region. Discover the program that awaits you this year.

For the 19th Nuit des Musées, the Musée du Luxembourg is opening its doors to us by night, on Saturday May 18, 2024. An opportunity for Parisians and art lovers alike to discover the building and the temporary exhibition of the day.

Every year since 2005, European Museum Night has been an opportunity for art lovers to push open the doors of legendary museums all over France, free of charge, from dusk until midnight. For an entire evening, the most curious can enjoy exclusive tours, screenings and exceptional events. It's a unique opportunity for the French to visit their favorite museums for free at night!

Few Parisians know that the Musée du Luxembourg was the first French museum to be opened to the public in 1750, before becoming the first museum of contemporary art in 1818. Initially housed in the Palais du Luxembourg, it moved to a purpose-built annex in 1884... The museum has no permanent collections, and its life depends on the temporary exhibitions it organizes and hosts.
