Les Arènes Lyriques 2023, the open-air classical festival in Montmartre

Looking for classical music andopera this summer 2023? The 5th edition of the Arènes Lyriques festival, to be held in Montmartre from July 28 to August 19, 2023, will enchant you! Take your place in the secret Arènes de Montmartre, a garden just a few minutes' walk from the Sacré Coeur on rue Chappe: it's off to a poetic evening of music.

Performances are scheduled for Friday July 28 and Saturday July 29, as well as Friday August 4, Saturday August 5, Thursday August 10, Friday August 11, Saturday August 12, Thursday August 17, Friday August 18 and Saturday August 19, 2023. For the occasion, the young opera singers and musicians will sing and play under the garlands of lights of the Arènes de Montmartre, under a starry summer sky.

This Arènes Lyriques ensemble presents a repertoire ranging from baroque to symphonic music, fromromantic opera to traditional Latin folk melodies. These concerts are quite spontaneous: the precise program is never known in advance and, the day after the concert, spectators receive an e-mail with details of the works performed the day before.

However, this year's program at Les Arènes Lyriques already includes a few highlights:Hector Berlioz's Les Nuits d'été: II. Le Spectre de la rose, Sergei Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3, Camille Saint-Saëns 's Rondo Capricioso and Eccomi in lieta veste... Oh! quante volte by Vincenzo Bellini.
