Near Colombes, in the Hauts-de-Seine département (92), Parc Pierre-Lagravère is located on the banks of the Seine, with wide-open spaces perfect for sports activities, family outings or leisurely strolls.

Created in 1973, Parc Pierre-Lagravère has quite an impressive history: for this, we need to go back a few centuries, to the time when the first English-style park was created by Claude-Henri Watelet on the combined islands of Marante and Moulin-Joly. With its waterfalls, streams and small woods, the park also boasted a beautiful menagerie. After the French Revolution, the property was sold and the mill was destroyed. In 1973, the Hauts-de-Seine department (according to the department's website) decided to create a large park on the same site as the previous one. The park was later named Pierre-Lagravère, in tribute to the first president of the department 's General Council.

Today, this little haven of greenery is a veritable oasis for sports enthusiasts, young and old alike: set along the Seine (between the Bezons and Colombes bridges), it features beautiful lawns and numerous large trees (plane, chestnut, olive...). The park is adjacent to the Promenade Bleue, a nine-kilometre-long pedestrian walkway running along the Seine from Rueil-Malmaison to Colombes.

At Parc Lagravère, sports enthusiasts can take advantage of circuits suitable for runners, cyclists or walkers, as well as the municipal sports center located within the park, with an Olympic-size swimming pool, skating rink and tennis courts. For the little ones, this is an ideal destination for a family outing, with not one but three children's playgrounds, several ping pong tables and a merry-go-round open in fine weather! Why not check out this lovely park in the Colombes area?
