For the 3rd year running, the Shangri-La Paris opens the doors of its sublime garden, usually closed to the public, and installs the terrace of its restaurant La Bauhinia named Summer by La Bauhinia . The French-style garden is so lush and pleasant that it makes you wonder why this terrace wasn't opened to gourmets of all kinds sooner!
The arrival of talented Chef Quentin Testart at the Shangri-La Paris marks the start of a new culinary adventure. From May 1, 2023, the establishment will offer a unique gastronomic experience with Summer by La Bauhinia, an ephemeral table featuring the seafood so dear to this Breton native. An opportunity to enjoy an idyllic interlude on a majestic terrace bordering a lush French garden, with a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower.
In addition to the beautiful terrace alongside the building, there are plenty of tables to be enjoyed under the plant and floral pergola. To keep out of the rain or too much sun, an indoor restaurant in the former fiefdom of l'Abeille also lends a hand this summer.
Summer by La Bauhinia is the secret garden of western Paris, hidden from view and facing the Eiffel Tower. Here, you can enjoy the freshness of a dining room open to the greenery and the magic of tables set in a private garden.
Inspired by his memories of Brittany and his culinary experiences all over the world, Quentin Testart offers a creative cuisine with a strong sense of identity, free from classic gastronomic codes. Borrowing from different continents the best cutting and cooking techniques, spices and condiments to sublimate seafood.
Ideal for those fine days when you're looking to spend a moment with fine dishes to share with friends or as a duo, the menu offers a range of appetizers that take us from Brittany to Asia. We love the spicy Crispy Rice, the barbecued eggplant or the crab spread.
Signature dishes include Lean cooked at low temperature in a banana leaf, Lobster in pastel ravioli swimming in a wonton broth, or Red mullet presented in a wallet with baby spinach, Taggiasche olives, capers and drizzled with a real bouillabaisse juice.
For meat-lovers, the Chef proposes Poultry with a Levant-style glaze and Wagyu Entrecôte with a herbaceous Béarnaise sauce. Vegetarians are not to be outdone, with a bouillabaisse of vegetables, lotus flowers with curry-coriander and yuzu gel.
Quentin Testart, 28, thus becomes the youngest Executive Chef in the Parisian Palaces. His ambition is to make the Shangri-La Paris a cuisine of instinct, more spontaneous and focused on seafood products and the scents of the world.
On the sweet side, Breton pastry chef Maxence Barbot offers light, sweet and seasonal creations, blending the great classics. Let yourself be seduced by the Millefeuille XXL vanille et fraises, which is just to die for.
This hidden terrace-restaurant, whose address is only passed on by insiders, is definitely worth a visit for its calm, luxury and voluptuousness. A must for the coming summer.
