We're off to Libra, a stone's throw from the Champs de Mars in the 7th arrondissement, to discover a charming little restaurant with a direct view of the kitchen. With barely twenty seats, this restaurant is designed to be friendly and welcoming, just like home.
The decor is both industrial and ethnic, and the mix of styles reflects the cuisine on offer. Colorful Iranian objects, cozy cushions, wrought iron and a large wooden table, the charm is there.
At the helm is Sayeh Zomorrodi, who offers us modern, original dishes in the style of small plates to share. Spices, saffron, rose, herbs and dried fruit are sure to awaken our taste buds.
The chef combines Persian flavors with French classics, using fresh seasonal produce. And, of course, everything is homemade.
Let yourself be tempted by the tasting menu for 2: a true voyage of the senses. You'll love the pan-fried eggplant with curd whey, both melting and crunchy with its little pieces of walnut, the feta with herbs and walnuts topped with its little crispy dome, and the excellent chorizo flambéed in cognac with its saffron sauce.
We then continue with the excellent cod marinated in orange and caramelized with honey, the saffron chicken ballottine with its excellent sauce, the Torshe steak with walnuts and fresh herbs, melting and tangy thanks to the pomegranate, all served with saffron rice.
To round off the meal, there's nothing like homemade desserts with a taste of the world. Chocolate mousse with pistachio chip mendiant chocolate and saffron rose ice cream, we're on top of the world.
Why not take your taste buds on a journey of your own?
