Hasard is set to open its doors in early April. A French bistro where you can eat, drink and try your luck at scratch cards. Rather... unusual.

Now that's a rather... original bistro! At the beginning ofApril, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, the restaurant Hasard will open, an establishment where you can eat and drink from morning till night, but also where you can try your luck at games of chance. An address not to be put in everyone's hands, that's for sure.

Hasard intends to revive the tradition of the local "troquets", open from early morning for a coffee-croissant at the counter, through to dinner, where you can enjoy an aperitif with friends overfranchouillard-style plates and fine wines, and lunch, where you can rediscover traditional French dishes day after day.

The restaurant is designed to be warm and lively, like the local cafés in the villages of France, so it's not surprising that you'll be able to try your luck at the scratch cards you can order at the table or counter. To modernize these traditions while retaining the popular soul of a neighborhood restaurant, the Depict studio has designed a décor featuring vintage and antique furniture, such as the famous Formica chairs.

In the kitchen, Italian chef Matteo Renzi creates a traditional menu for lunch(mayo eggs, terrine, frogs' legs, blanquette, stuffed cabbage, croque-monsieur, chocolate mousse and floating island for dessert) and plates to share with guests in the evening: calf's head croquettes, sardines and confit potatoes, oysters; all in a seasonal and ecological approach.
