To enjoy Italian cuisine on the go, head for Rosata, a stone's throw from the Gare Saint-Lazare station, with its deliciously soft focaccias that you can fill to your heart's content!

Located just a few meters from the Gare Saint-Lazare, in a business district where workers eat in a hurry and take away, the Rosata sandwich shop is ideally placed, providing the opportunity to eat well even when the wind is blowing! A big fan of Italian gastronomy, Rosalie has come up with a range of generous, gourmet focaccias, with healthy, quality products straight from Italy, at low prices!

If you've got a little time to enjoy these delicious Italian sandwiches, and the weather is fine, we suggest you take a seat in the adjacent Marcel Pagnol square, with its superb view of theSaint-Augustin church, as the space is not a restaurant and has only limited seating. Chef Cassandre Song's seven recipes are original and seasonal, with a choice to suit vegetarians and Italian ham lovers alike, and also available in salads!

The main ingredient is the soft, airy bread with olive oil from SAIN bakery, a veritable reference in the capital, far from stuffy and easy to digest. On the other hand, expect to be quite full after lunch! Vegetables, meats and cheeses are added, along with a sauce and topping, which you can also choose yourself thanks to the Unica option, which we opted for on the first focaccia!

The Italian cured ham was our favorite, with stracciatella, lamb's lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil and honey, for a divine moment from the very first bite! Thebalance was perfect, between the crispness of the bread after being toasted, the lightness of a cheese from Puglia, absolutely delicious, a little sweet that blends wonderfully with the honey, the very example of street-food as well worked as a restaurant dish.

For the second focaccia, we hesitated with the Primavera, with its marinated soy/honey chicken, coriander and carrot pickles, but it was the Mortadella, which as its name suggests, contains mortadella, pistachio/basil ricotta, salad and mozzarella, that finally caught our eye! A delicious sandwich, very fresh with its melting cheese, delicately spiced up with pistachio aromas that take us on a journey.

When it comes to desserts, we recommend you take home the house's famous cookie, fresh from the oven, tender and with a hint of fleur de sel to soften the chocolatey taste. If you arrive early enough, you can try the cannoli, a pastry originally from Sicily, which seems to be a victim of its own success and which we hope you'll come back to try! Depending on the day, other desserts are available, such as panna cotta or lemon poppy cake.
