Le Cachot de la Bastille, our test of Gamescape's Revolutionary escape game

Lovers of history, and of the French Revolution in particular, are in for a treat with Gamescape's new Le Cachot de la Bastille escape game in Paris's 11th arrondissement. The redesign now allows you to play in pairs only, if you wish.

Do you love French history? You'll love Gamescape, anescape game located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, a stone's throw from République. And there's good news: for lovers of the French Revolution, Gamescape has revamped its Le Cachot de la Bastille room, allowing you to play in pairs only, if you're looking for a small-group escape game.

The principle remains the same: search a room and solve enigmas to get out in less than an hour. The story of the room is also unchanged: you find yourself locked in a Parisian prison dungeon in 1789, and must escape before the revolutionaries arrive! The other mission: to investigate the presence of a mysterious prisoner, theMan in the Iron Mask!

This overhaul has enabled the company to revise the entire setting, puzzles and scenario. Only the name has been kept, purely for nostalgia's sake. A room we were able to test. The décor is completely immersive, both in terms of the design of the puzzles and the "Revolution" atmosphere. An ideal room for two people, even families, for a real moment of fun. The puzzles are also well thought-out and accessible, so that families can play along.

We particularly appreciate the consistency of the puzzles, which are easy to understand and avoid frustration for those who don't usually manage to get out of escape games in time. An ideal room, too, for those who have never experienced escape games and would like to give the experience a try. Note that this room can be used by more than two people, but we advise you not to exceed four, as you risk not being able to move around easily in the spaces (although the room isn't small).

It's an opportunity to rediscover this room if you've already experienced it, and to simply discover it if you haven't yet. Shall we book a session for a trip back in time, folks?

This test was conducted as part of a professional invitation. If your experience differs from ours, please mention it in the comments.
