23 bands. 23 bands to grace one of Rock en Seine 's 5 stages this Sunday, August 27, 2023, the fourth and final day of the Parisian festival. So, which artists are not to be missed this Sunday? The Strokes, Nova Twins, Amyl & The Sniffers... round-up of the 5 bands and artists to see this August 27 at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud for the 20th anniversary of Rock en Seine!
THE STROKES - Grande Scène - 10:00 pm
The Strokes, the flagship band of the New York rock scene, are delighted to be appearing at Rock en Seine this summer, bringing the 20th edition of the Parisian festival to a fitting close. This will be the first time that the talented Julian Casablancas and his band have performed live at Rock en Seine. Together, they'll be playing and performing some of their countless hits (" Someday ", " Reptilia ", " Last Nite "...), as well as several of their most recent tracks, taken from their sixth album,"The New Abnormal".
AMYL & THE SNIFFERS - Main Stage - 5.35pm
Australia is well represented this year at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud for the 20th anniversary of Rock en Seine, with the arrival of Amyl & The Sniffers. Hailing from Melbourne, this quartet made a remarkable debut in 2019, releasing a thunderous eponymous debut opus, swiftly followed in 2021 by"Comfort to Me". Delivering upbeat, over-the-top performances, these four Aussie lascars intend to use the occasion to show that Australian punk rock really does exist!
THE MURDER CAPITAL - Cascade Stage - 4:35pm
We loved them back in 2019 on the Firestone stage when they played Rock en Seine for the very first time! This time around, Irish punks The Murder Capital are back on the Cascade stage to hypnotize even more festival-goers! With their overflowing, infectious energy and the rage of their charismatic frontman James McGovern, The Murder Capital once again promise a devastating, dynamic and bubbling set in the tradition of Shame and Idles.
NOVA TWINS - Main Stage - 2.30pm
Big favorite at Hellfest 2019. Big slap in the face for their sweaty show at the Nouveau Casino in Paris in 2022. This summer, the two Nova Tw ins girls - singer/guitarist Amy Love and bassist Georgia South - make their debut at Rock en Seine, and look set to make their mark with their incredible energy and explosive, over-the-top songs. Proof of their reputation, the talented British duo have already opened for the likes of Skunk Anansie, Wolf Alice, Little Simz, Enter Shikari and Prophets of Rage. Now they're off to European festivals to show that girls can put on a show too.
ANGEL OLSEN - Cascade Stage - 1:50pm
The early afternoon of this final day of Rock en Seine promises to be a sweet and melancholy one, thanks to Angel Olsen's folk-rock. With her haunting voice and bewitching ballads, this American singer-songwriter has quickly made a name for herself in the music world, to the point of being sought out by such big names as Jonathan Wilson, Bonnie"Prince" Billy, Sharon Van Etten and Cass McCombs. On Sunday August 27, Angel Olsen will be showcasing the full extent of her talent, performing tracks from her latest opus,"Big Time", released in 2022.
Of course, this list is by no means exhaustive, and there are plenty of other bands not to be missed at Rock en Seine on August 27. And what are you planning to see and hear on Sunday at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud?
