China invites itself to Paris at the Musée Guimet! On April 27 and 28, 2024, a festive weekend marks the launch of the Year of China at the Musée Guimet, offering a rich program for a plunge into the Chinese cultural universe. To mark the start of the Year of China, the Musée Guimet in Paris is transforming itself into a veritable showcase of Chinese culture, with superb artistic installations and a series of events that promise to immerse you in a unique cultural experience. From April 27 to 28, 2024, an inaugural program awaits you.

A monumental , poetic installation is unveiled. As soon as you arrive, a spectacular transformation of the museum's façade greets you. Draped in red tulle and embellished with impressive sculptures, this work by artist Jiang Qiong Er sets the scene for an immersion in contemporary Chinese art. Inside, the"Guardians of Time" installations captivate the eye, offering a fascinating journey between tradition and innovation, and highlighting essential 21st-century values inspired by millennia-old Chinese caves.

This weekend at the Musée Guimet is an invitation to explore the symbolic richness of China through the prism of contemporary art, a not-to-be-missed opportunity for all culture and history enthusiasts.

  • Choreographic tour:
    Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30 pm in the museum's Chinese Rooms
    . Inspired by the artistic heritage of ancient China, this tour offers an imaginary journey between classical Chinese dance and the museum's works, under the artistic direction of Mr. Wang Wenhu. Duration: 25 minutes. Free on presentation of admission ticket.

  • Concert by the Silk and Bamboo Ensemble:
    Saturday April 27, 2024, 8pm, Museum Auditorium
    This concert features traditional Chinese music on ancient instruments such as the erhu and guzheng, reflecting the richness of Chinese musical traditions. Cost: €18, tickets available online and on site, free on the day of the concert subject to conditions.
