On Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17, 2023, the Journées du Patrimoine - AKA the cultural event not to be missed this autumn - are back, with a program of very (very) interesting visits and events in Paris and the Île-de-France region. So, if you're more into ministries, churches, industrial heritage, walks in the great outdoors... There's something for all tastes and all the family! During this exceptional weekend, you can also take the opportunity to discover places that only open once a year during the Journées du Patrimoine: this is the case, for example, of some major educational establishments, which normally only welcome their students.
So, let's head for the Lycée Jacques Decour in the 9th arrondissement to discover the various heritage sites hidden inside the establishment. Renowned for its "classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles", the Lycée Jacques Decour has been home to prestigious teachers such as poet Stéphane Mallarmé and philosopher Henri Bergson, and has seen the rise of equally famous pupils: painters Édouard Manet and Gustave Moreau, singer Claude Nougaro, film director François Truffaut... Don't miss the chance to visit this famous Parisian high school during the Journées du Patrimoine 2023!
