Journées du Patrimoine 2023: visit high schools and higher education establishments in Paris

On the weekend of September 16 and 17, 2023, the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days) celebrate French history and heritage with a wide range of tours, walks and events. Among the tours offered exclusively on these two special days, those of Paris's top secondary schools and higher education establishments plunge you into the history of the capital's most prestigious educational establishments.

Every September, the European Heritage Days are a not-to-be-missed event in Paris and the Ile-de-France region: this year, the event takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, 2023, and offers hundreds of tours, events and activities to discover our heritage from a different angle.

To mark the occasion, a large number of sites that are closed to the public all year round are opening their doors to the public, offering exclusive guided tours, some of which have never been seen before. This is the case for some of Paris's leading lycées and higher education establishments, which, although only accessible to their students, teachers and staff all year round, are offering visitors the chance to discover their architecture, history and rich heritage during an exceptional visit on the weekend of September 16 and 17. With their huge buildings, richly decorated halls and the very special atmosphere found in these highly prestigious higher education establishments, Paris's largest lycées and other university campuses are opening their doors to you during the Journées du Patrimoine 2023 , giving you the chance to admire their classrooms, halls, staircases and more, during a guided tour. Usually reserved for those lucky enough to study there.
