Emmaus Solidarity invites the artist Nil Yalter and the photojournalist Abdul Saboor as part of a participatory program of meetings on reception in France at the Transfo from 2 February to 6 April 2023.

While a newimmigration bill will be debated this year, the French artist of Turkish origin, Nil Yalter presents C'est un dur métier que l'exil (1977/2023) a collage of photographs, a quotation and videotaped conversations with immigrant women and families from Portugal and Turkey. As a recurring gesture, this collage has been produced in numerous public and artistic venues since its creation.

Abdul Saboor is a memberof theAtelier des Artistes en Exil. In Calais, Dunkirk or Grande-Synthe he went to lend a hand to migrants and document their daily life. Camera in hand, he applies this documentary approach to the people he meets, getting to know them, making them feel comfortable in front of the lens.
