Taking the RER B through Gare du Nord is set to be another difficult journey this spring. Work to replace the Saint-Denis railway bridge will once again disrupt train traffic on RER line B, from Saturday April 19 to Monday April 21, 2025 inclusive. Transilien SNCF has announced.
So, what exactly can we expect on RER B? On this busy RER line, the interconnection will be suspended at Gare du Nord during the three days of work, which coincide with the Easter weekend. To continue your journey, you'll need to change trains between the underground and above-ground tracks of the Paris station.
In detail, trains to CDG2 airport and Mitry-Claye from Gare du Nord will depart from the surface tracks, tracks 31 to 33. Trains to Robinson and Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse will depart from the underground tracks, track 44.
Fewer trains will also be running during this period. " On working days: expect an average of 9 trains per hour on the north of the line and 12 trains per hour on the south of the line, as well as additional services to and from Denfert-Rochereau," reads the RER B blog.
As a result, " heavy traffic on the line " is to be expected, according to the RER B blog. Passengers are therefore invited, wherever possible, to postpone their journey or plan for a longer journey time, particularly on Monday April 21, 2025.
These major works in Saint-Denis are also having an impact on train traffic on RER line D and Transilien lines H and K. What are the consequences? Heavy traffic is expected on metro line 4.
Also note that from Saturday April 19 to Monday April 21, 2025, traffic will be interrupted all day on the RER B between Aulnay-sous-Bois and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2.
