For Easter in 2026, Pleincœur, the bakery, pastry shop and chocolate atelier, as well as L'Atelier run by Maxime Frédéric, located in the Batignolles neighborhood of the 17th arrondissement of Paris, invite us to explore a delightful, heartwarming collection inspired by the farm animals of the chef’s Norman family farm. Chicks, rabbits, sheep, and calves... there’s something for everyone, and clearly, for every budget.
Few are unfamiliar with Maxime Frédéric, the award-winning pastry chef already dazzling at Cheval Blanc Paris. Crowned Best Pastry Chef in the World 2025, he recently opened Pleincœur — a neighborhood spot designed to be warm, welcoming, and accessible, driven by what he calls his chosen family. At the helm, he works alongside Gaëtan Lucas and Antonin Racinet, respectively the head pastry chef and head baker, who have been by his side since the very beginning of this journey. Clearly, whether for Easter or any day of the year, his creations are the result of true teamwork.
The guiding theme of this year's edition? Farm animals from a family farm in Normandy. Chick, rabbit, sheep, and calf come to life in 75% dark chocolate or 40% milk chocolate, each crafted to reflect their personality: corn praline for the Chick, coconut praline for the Sheep, hazelnuts coated in chocolate for the Rabbit and the calf. These Easter figures are available in two sizes, starting at €9.50, making them wonderful gifts to slip into baskets without breaking the bank. While hazelnuts still win everyone's hearts, we're especially smitten with the corn and coconut versions—they're less common but absolutely delicious.
We also couldn't resist the Flower Box, a set of 16 crunchy candies bursting with honeyed and fruity flavors. This collection comes in four delicious varieties: Raspberry Blossom in dark chocolate with raspberry caramel and crispy almond, Honey Blossom with chestnut honey caramel and pistachio praline, Apple Blossom in milk chocolate with baked apple confit, and Caramel Blossom in blond chocolate with crispy hazelnut praline. The 16-piece box is available for 28 euros.
Pleincœur’s Easter eggs are unlike any other. Their signature collection features blond chocolate with caramel notes, filled with a crunchy hazelnut praline biscuit. They are available in three sizes: €8.50 for 50g, €21 for 150g, and €35 for 250g.
Even more unique, the "Les Oeufs de nos Vergers" gift box pays tribute to the laying hens of the family-run farm, Les Secrets de nos Vergers, in Normandy. It includes six eggs from six different hens, each with its own distinct flavor profile: Coco paired with the Bresse hen, Sarrasin with the Araucana, Pistache with the Kaki hen, Maïs with the Gournay hen, Noisette with the Marans hen, and Chocolat with the Ayam Cemani. The 6-egg box is priced at 22 euros.
And for die-hard hazelnut fans, the Hazelnut Jewel—a stunning illusion-filled treat filled with hazelnut praline and whole roasted hazelnuts—is more than just a confection. It tells a human story, celebrating the bond between Maxime Frédéric and his team of dedicated producers—Laurent, Sophie, Yannick, and Christine. A wonderful gift at 55 euros, perfect for connoisseurs who appreciate exceptional flavors.
Starting Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Pleincœur is launching a new treat: a 100% chocolate pastry. This croissant dough is infused with rich cocoa and features the house’s signature flaky layers, filled with a smooth, creamy chocolate center. Priced at €4.90, it’s the kind of indulgence you almost instinctively toss into your basket.
A chocolate soufflé is also on the menu. With its light, airy texture, you'll love taking it to-go.
This collection is perfect for families with children, chocolate lovers who appreciate craftsmanship, or those looking for a beautiful Easter gift without going through major retailers. It strikes a rare balance between affordability and authentic artisanal quality. Naturally, it's not in the same league as large supermarket chains or nearly industrial-scale businesses. Here, you find expertly crafted artisanal products of exceptional quality, which can sometimes come at a higher cost—yet honestly, the value for money is unmatched.
Pleincœur welcomes visitors at 64 Rue des Batignolles, Paris 17th (open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and at the Pleincœur Workshop, 12 Mstislav Rostropovich Street, Paris 17th (open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Both locations are conveniently close to the Martin Luther King Park, a lovely spot to combine a springtime stroll with a well-deserved chocolate Easter treat.
