For Museums Night 2019, Paris Musée de l’Homme invites us to a movie night and to enjoy workshops as well as a free access to the exhibition areas, including the current exhibition “Neandertal, the exhibition”.

Museums Night is an event you don’t want to miss. On Saturday May 18, 2019, Paris Musée de l’Homme will remain open late at night and welcome curious children and adults free of charge within its collections.

Located in Place du Trocadéro, above the Musée de la Marine, the Musée de l’Homme had a makeover and, since its reopening, is one of the most popular museums in Paris: this lab-museum answers three big questions by reviewing the current anthropological researches – who are we? Where are we from? Where are we going? – in a rather successful staging making us travel through time and cultures!

And this year, the museum celebrates all-things urban over street art, as well as a journalism workshop and the screening of Banksy "Exit through the Gift Shop".

On the menu of Musuems Night 2019 at the Musée de l'Homme:

  • Free tour of the permanent and temporary exhibitions, from 7 p.m. to midnight

For Museums Night, the Musée de l'Homme opens its doors wide, a wonderful occasion to discover the museum's collections in the Galerie de l'Homme, as well as the temporary exhibitions "J'ai le droit d'avoir des Droits" and "Déclarations" by Sebastiao Salgado.

  • Movie night at the Musée de l'Homme
The Musée de l'Homme provides a special screening about street art and Banksy with two sessions - one at 7:45 p.m., the other at 21:45 p.m. - to discover "Exit through the Gift Shop", his cult, mischievious and pionneer movie on street art and shot in 2010.
  • "Create your article" workshop at 7:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
Children are invited to discover the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen through the "J'ai le Droit d'avoir des Droits" exhibition and a creative and playful workshop designed by artist Dugudus.
Please also note that the Musée de l'Homme is one of Paris most coveted museums, with 4714 visitors. If you want to go there, we advise you to arrive early.
