Covid: shopping malls and department stores are wondering when they will be allowed to reopen

In order to curb the coronavirus epidemic in the country, French Prime Minister has decided to close all non-food shopping malls and department centers from January 31. This February 17, retailers’ federations are asking for more visibility with a reopening calendar, for instance.

The Prime Minister made the decision to ban the sale of “non-necessary” products in supermarket starting Tuesday November 3. But leeway until Wednesday November 4 is granted. Furthermore, an extra 20 billion euros will be unlocked to support stores currently closed over the new lockdown.
