Health pass: pass control in shopping malls rejected by the Council of State

The government wished to instate the health pass to access stores and shopping malls. The Council of State has rejected the measures, considering it was a "disproportionate harm to involved people's freedom". Compulsory health pass could yet be kept for shopping malls covering over 20,000sqm on some conditions.

Air pollution: The State under the threat of a record-breaking penalty for its inaction

The Council of State handed its verdict on Friday July 10 as for the measures of the government to reduce air pollution: if the situation has not complied with a directive from 2008 within six months, the State will have to pay a 10 million euros penalty by semester of delay.

The State Council lifts the ban to protest under 5,000 people without authorization

As the health emergency is still on, it is banned to protest in France. This strict prohibition has been suspended on Monday July 6, 2020 by the State Council following the plea of several union trades. But the State Council reminds the ban to protest “can be justified by the current health situation” when barrier measures cannot be respected or that “the event is likely to gather over 5,000 people”.
