On November 25, 2017, French Institut Curie expects all runners in front of Paris City Hall for the edition 2017 of the Course des Lumières (Race of Lights), a sporting challenge in support of cancer research.
After the edition 2016 which gathered over 2,000 runners and walkers at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, Course des Lumières is back this year for the greatest happiness of big-hearted runners. Save the date, the event will be hold on November 25 in front of Paris City Hall to take part in this sporting and solidarity event organized by Institut Curie which half of the funds is donated to cancer research.
Whether they practice sport or not, participants will have the choice between a 10-km timed race or a walk routine covering 4-km in the heart of the City of Lights and on the Seine riverbanks.
In order to make an impression with the welcoming atmosphere of this event sponsored this year by sport-journalist Hervé Mathoux, the Village des Lumières offers all night long animations to participants.
Last year, Course des Lumières fundraised €125,000 in support of cancer research. An amount that helped making progress against the disease that remains the leading cause of death in France with about 149,000 deaths per year.
