9Confidentiel, Philippe Starck's 5* hotel

Designer Philippe Starck has struck again with 9Confidentiel, a brand new 5-star boutique hotel hidden behind a magnificent art deco façade on rue du Roi de Sicile, in the heart of the Marais district.

Book a night in one of the 29 rooms, or one of the 3 suites offering breathtaking views over the rooftops of Paris. Or simply take a gourmet break while Christmas shopping, or enjoy an evening cocktail.

This beautiful setting, entirely imagined by Philippe Starck, plunges us into a 20's ambience enhanced by unexpected elements of art brut that create a lovely relief. The intimate rooms are decorated in pastel tones, and designed as bonbonnières evoking the world of the Roaring Twenties. With double-glazed windows and rain showers, 9Confidentiel offers an oasis of calm and well-being in the heart of Paris.

Room prices vary according to period and options requested, but to give you a rough idea, the superior room is around €490, the club room around €520, the executive room around €560, and suites range from €640 to €720.

Le 9Confidentiel has also teamed up with Codage to offer customized in-room body and facial treatments. Just the thing for a timeless getaway!

Whether you're a hotel guest or just passing through the area, take a break at tea time in the tree-lined patio and sample the delicious creations of pastry chef Yann Couvreur, such as this Paris-Brest for two to share at 22 euros.

And in the evening, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Confidence cocktail bar is the place to be for a drink or a quick snack. Under the aegis of renowned mixologist Nico de Soto, the bar at 9Confidentiel offers a variety of tempting cocktails at the unique price of €15.

Flavors range from classics like the Confidentiel (gin, Saint Germain, rose, cucumber, basil, lime, albumen), to the more original, like theAnnie (absinthe infused with vanilla and cardamom, watermelon, almond-coconut cream, cinnamon and coconut water). On the snack side, choose from a dozen refined snacks: tarama and farmhouse bread at 12€ or Caviar Baeri (Origine France - 30gr) and blinis at 48€, for example.
