Shangri-La Hotel expects you on January 5, 2020 to attend, from 11 a.m. the traditional Lion dance, performed by the prestigious Kung Fu school “Pak Mei Lao Wei San”.
Lions parade at the beating of the drums, chasing away evil spirits. They’ll also have to catch salad and a red envelop holding some money. This loot is supposed to bring luck and prosperity for the new year.
In the afternoon, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., children from 6 to 12 years old will be lucky enough to be introduced to the art of Kung Fu by Pak Mei Lao Wei San school head Benjamin Culos. This introduction (€30) will be followed by a snack.
Then from January 23 to 27, 2020, head to Shang Palace, the only Chinese restaurant in France to be awarded a Michelin star and where Chinese chef Samuel Lee created exceptional dishes to celebrate the New Year as it should. A 9-course tasting menu expects you for a wonderful sensory journey in the Middle Kingdom.
