Covid: less than 100 deaths in 24h in France, the epidemic is ultimately getting stable in 2021

While the lockdown exit planned by the government is just around the corner in France, Covid-19 epidemic markers are slowly starting to stabilize with less worrying trends. For the first time since October 2020, there have been less than 100 deaths to coronavirus for the past 24 hours in France.

Covid-19 killed less than 100 people in 24 hours in France. This is the first time since the beginning of 2021 this marker of the coronavirus epidemic reported in France is moving below this fateful threshold. According to the latest data shared this Monday May 17, 2021 by Santé publique France, the health situation is improving, showing a few encouraging signs.

This Wednesday May 19, 2021, the second phase of the lockdown exit planned by the government will enable the French to make the most of the reopening of terraces and some stores. Curfew is also moved to 9 p.m. starting from this day forth.

In one day, 81 patients have died following Covid-19 infection in France. The last time this toll went below the threshold of 100 deaths was in October 2020. Looking at the toll in critical care units, resuscitation units, intensive care units, continuous surveillance units, there are 4,255 Covid sick including 102 new patients over the past 24 hours. The day before, there were 4,271 of them.

Since the beginning of the health crisis – officially from March 2020 in France – 107,645 people have died following Covid-19 infection. Today, 22,963 people are at the hospital because of coronavirus, including 416 new patients in the past 24 hours.
