Museums Night 2022 at the Château de Chantilly

The Night of the Museums is back on Saturday, May 13, 2023, for an exceptional 19th edition! The perfect opportunity to visit the Château de Chantilly and the surrounding domain.

The Night of the Museums returns to Paris and the Île-de-France region on Saturday, May 13, 2023 for a 19th edition that is not to be missed! Thisannual event, which opens the doors of museums free of charge after dark, offers a unique opportunity to discover exceptional collections, explore ephemeral exhibitions, and participate in interactive and fun activities. From guided tours to artistic performances, concerts and creative workshops, the Night of the Museums is a truly immersive cultural experience.

And contrary to what its name might suggest, museums are not the only ones taking part in this exceptional open evening: castles are also joining the party! This is notably the case of the Château de Chantilly, the incredible estate that has welcomed many crowned heads, and which is in itself a little jewel of history and architecture, not to mention the large park that surrounds the building. For the Night of the Museums, the castle will honor a building often ignored by the public: the Grandes Ecuries and the Horse Museum. These princely stables, a true "palace for horses", are the largest in Europe and normally host the shows of the Equestrian Company. So, what does this magical night of Saturday, May 13, 2023 have in store for you in Chantilly?

The program of the Night of the Museums 2023 at the Château de Chantilly :

Equestrian animations under the dome of the Grandes Écuries at 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. Duration: 30 minutes.
Guided tour of the Grandes Ecuries at 7:30 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:30 pm. Duration: 20 minutes. Meeting point under the dome.
From 7pm to 9:30pm: Demonstrations of whipped cream by the Confrérie des Chevaliers Fouetteurs de Crème Chantilly.
From 7pm to 9:30pm: Saddlery. Stéphanie Oriot, saddler at the Cantilian saddlery Epona, reveals the different techniques of leather work. From the cutting to the craft know-how of the saddle stitch.
From 7 to 10 pm: The students ofAFASEC present their school and their training to become a training rider in racing stables and demonstrate a mechanical horse.
