On Saturday May 20, 2017, let’s meet at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace for an exceptional evening! On Museums Night, the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace makes us discover our planet as seen from the sky.

The Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace welcomes you until late in the day on Saturday May 20 on Museums Nights. During an exceptional evening, you can explore the Earth as seen from the sky and space: tours, animations and never seen before experiments will take you to the sky and make you see our planet’s hidden wonders.

Program of Museums Night at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace:

Discovery guided tour
Let’s go discovering the museum’s treasures!
Planes, helicopters, rockets... as well as aerial and space photography, you will know everything about the museum.
Free / 60-minute tour with scheduled departures at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Reservation on the spot at reception and within the limit of the number of places available.

Concorde Tour
June 30, 1973: the Concorde 001 is especially equipped with measuring instruments to cover the total solar eclipse. An abseiling down a guided tour of this race between the Moon and... the Concorde.
During the guided tour, visit the myth: the world’s fastest commercial airplane.
Free / 60-minute tour with scheduled departures at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Temporary exhibition
Latitude 48.9333, photographic work on the dream’s territory
The exhibition Latitude 48.9333 is a submersion in the genius of the place which carried out the age-old legend of the Bird-Man, dreaming of flying. Since 2014, Les EpouxP – Pascale & Damien Peyret – have been creating a work based on hybrid and personal photographs of a territory shaped by its various changes: the Bourget airport hub.
During the month dedicated to photography, both artists presented their free interpretation of their architectural heritage inventory work and their explorations through the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace own photographic collections.

The Earth as seen from the sky, the quiz
To celebrate Thomas Pesquet’s last days in space, a special quiz will make you discover or rediscover his photographs taken aboard the ISS!
You think you know our planet? Let’s test your and other visitors’ knowledge!

Philae animation
Back to the... Rosetta mission!
Come and attend the dynamic demonstration of how the Philae model deploys its scientific instruments as if you were on Comet Churyumov–Gerasimenko!
Return on the mission photographic contribution.
Free / 30-minute long animation at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.

"Joyaux célestes" (celestial jewels) planetarium session
The universe hides treasures invisible to the naked eyes from the Earth. Thanks to current technologies, "artificial eyes" went looking for enchanting pictures finally revealing the cosmos’ beauty. Come and discover them during a planetarium session.
Free / 30-minutes long session at 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Get on board 4 legendary planes!
Get on board the Boeing 747 and two Concorde. Experience the allied landing from the Douglas C-47 Dakota and take part in an offshore rescue with the Super Frelon (heavy transport helicopter) crew!

Visiting and playing in the permanent collections
Come and play a game whilst visiting the museum’s permanent collections with three game-trails:

  • Space conquest
  • Inter-war hall
  • WWII
