The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris shines a light on Sarah Moon’s work with a retrospective running from September 18, 2020 to January 10, 2021. The exhibition presents the fashion photographer’s greatest pictures highlighting a fairytale universe filled with dark romanticism. An unmissable tour to rediscover the work of this great artist.
Paris Museum of modern art retrospective displays different photographs and movies returning on Sarah Moon’s career and personality. We can see the singular aspect of her work: her photographs tell a story tinted with a feeling of unexpected surprise.
The subject of her shots – animals, plants, people, flowers – cannot escape the artist’s will, printing her personality in each one of her photos. Brought together, they create a “ballade”, a word used in the photo industry to describe one’s work and pictorial researches.
Movies also pace this retrospective and remind us that Sarah Moon has more than one talent up her sleeve. A part of the exhibition focused on Robert Delpire, the artist’s partner and editor and one of the founders of the Centre national de la photographie.
Loving fashion, photography, fashion photography, let’s all meet at Paris Museum of Modern Art to admire the retrospective devoted to Sarah Moon. Let’s also enjoy the other two exhibitions that are held at the same time: Hubert Duprat and Victor Brauner. Let’s meet at the museum!
