Thierry Mugler is getting on a world tour, but museum style! After Canada, the Netherlands and Germany, it’s time for Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs to house the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition. And you don’t want to miss it: meet at the Parisian museum from October 22, 2020 to April 4, 2021.
Perfumes, photographs, haute couture, Thierry Mugler has tried everything and always succeeds in creating incredible works and products. Paris Musée des Arts Décoratifs pays tribute to the designer with the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime retrospective and takes us back to the artist’s career. Haute-couture, fashion shows, easily identifiable silhouettes, his photos, main models, shows… All the artist’s works remind us of the major spot he has taken in the fashion industry for about 50 years.
Far from being shy and classic, the exhibition transcribes all the energy and excitement moving the designer. The retrospective is set in the Galeries de la Mode of the Parisian fashion and expects many visitors: it’s the first time an exhibition is devoted to this extraordinary designer!
It’s a wonderful year in Paris for art and fashion fans. Get your diary out and save the dates: you’re expected at the Musée Rodin with Judy Chicago, Christian Louboutin expects you at the Palais de la Porte Dorée, the Palais Galliera will reopen and presents an exhibition devoted to Gabrielle Chanel and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs offers a retrospective about fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
