Go and meet peoples from New Guinea, South Sudan, Peru, Mongolia, Tanzania, and many more extraordinary places, thanks to Jimmy Nelson’s work. The photographer presents his work from around the world from October 16 to November 15, 2020 at the Atelier des Lumières for Fall break. 29 exceptional nights to enjoy immersed in the “The Last Sentinels” exhibition.
Over a hundred pictures comes to life on the walls of the Atelier des Lumières. This 40-minute journey makes us discover many native people, living in harmony with nature. The diversity of the people shown, the colors, the music, the incredible environments promoted in these pictures give us unlimited energy and positivity.
Jimmy Nelson fully immersed himself in these communities to show us their beauty and richness. From these people living on five different continents, we are blown away by a rich, complex and striking culture that the photographer endeavor to preserve. He passes rites, singings, and cultural traditions from these people, to the soundtrack inspired by musical compositions from Africa, Siberia, India, South America and aboriginal Australia.
The “The Last Sentinels” exhibition revolves around six acts, each providing breathtaking portraits and landscapes. Traveling, bond with nature, animals, relationships between people, their wisdom, their energy… Each chapter is an invitation to introspection, an invitation to go on a magnificent journey, looking for the richness of the world.
Photographer of native people, Jimmy Nelson takes over the Atelier des Lumières for nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. This original production is displayed as part of the “Save the Planet” mission, giving the floor to artists committed to the environment and the preservation of the planet and the humankind. This exhibition enables Culturespaces to financially support the Jimmy Nelson Foundation striving to bring together the peoples of the world around the preservation of humankind’s natural and cultural heritage.
Do not worry, the Monet, Renoir, Chagall… Journeys around the Mediterranean, and Yves Klein, Infinite Blue exhibitions are still live during the day for All Saints vacation.
