When art is expressed through the experience of time… The Pinault Collection at the Bourse de Commerce offers curious people to enjoy an exhibition running from June 22 to September 26, 2022, and themed on the concept of time, called “Une Seconde d’Eternité”. An exhibition exploring “the polysemy of the present time, in turns suspended, fleeting, moved by spectral presences, crossed by the theme of absence and incarnation” through works gathered within.
A cycle inspired by Belgian artist Marcel Broodthaers’ film, “Une seconde d’éternité” (based on a Charles Baudelaire idea), created in 1971. For a very short while, this movie shines a light on “the artist’s presence by the simple figuration of his signature”. A movie setting the tone of the exhibition, “where the intensity of the bodies presence and pictures is measured with regard to their fugacity”.
In all, 20 artists are exhibited for an immersion through time including Larry Bell, Marcel Broodthaers, Gustave le Gray, Sherry Levine, Wolfgang Tillmans, Nina Canell, Philippe Parreno, Anri Sala, Sturtevant, Liz Deschenes, Ryan Gander and Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. An exhibition likely to take us on a unique moment. Shall we book a ticket, then, friends?
