Museums Night 2021 at the Château de Fontainebleau (77)

This Saturday July 3, the Château de Fontainebleau takes part in Museums Night, opening until late in the night so you can visit the Château apartments remained in the same state since the reign of Napoleon III from 7 p.m. to midnight.

An incredible occasion to walk in the hallways that seen many great Princes and dukes that remained in the same state since Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie has left!

With over 1500 pieces exhibited throughout the 130 hectares of park and gardens, Fontainebleau is the only royal and imperial castle that has been inhabited non-stop for seven centuries. Visiting Fontainebleau is enjoying an exceptional presentation of history, the history of French art and architecture.

The castle's collections include about 30,000 works of art from the 16th to the 19th century, and a large part can be admired in the castle's historic apartments, the Napoleon I's museum, and the gallery of paintings, the gallery of furniture and the Chinese musuem.

For Museums Night, there are no entertainments but a walk in the Sovereign Grands Appartements, located on the first floor of the château. The successive royal apartments open onto an outdoor walkway running along the façade and the oval courtyard.
