The Holidays never end! The Musée des Arts Forains in Bercy is for something: from December 26, 2021 to January 2, 2022, the magic place opens for a festival you do not want to miss. Here is the perfect occasion to visit the venue staged by private collector Jean-Paul Favand who decided to share with us his fantastic universe, the one of merry-go-rounds and fairground arts.
For the Holidays, the museum hosts their Festival du Merveilleux, themed on the Roaring Twenties. For a week, the place is open for self-guided tours, without prior appointment needed. This magical place, decorated and lit, promises wonderful shows and a crazy atmosphere with music from this era.
Free of charge shows and entertainments are held all day long. On the menu: air show, tap-dancers, musicians, puppets, mechanical music, automaton shows and optical illusion. Children - old or young - will be amazed!
Even bette, for each ticket sold, visitors are given two ride tickets: it is time to have fun and try one of the many centenary-old merry-go-rounds in the museum! The institution says "you can obviously buy ride tickets again on site, but we yet recommend to enjoy the shows".
In addition to the entertainments and illuminations provided for the Holidays, enjoy the décors and the uncommon merry-go-rounds of this unique museum in Paris. Take part in a waking dream and walk though these fantastic and childlike universes!
Within the museum, discover the five incredible areas dedicated to show art:
Covering 1,800 sqm with attractions, merry-go-rounds and games from the 1900’s. Velocipede and wooden horse merry-go-rounds are open every day.
The Theater of Marvels
Also covering 1,800 sqm, discover a palace of illusion and dream with a video show. A mix of real and virtual to make you live a unique experience.
The Salons Vénitiens
Covering 800 sqm, discover merry-go-rounds, fairground attractions and automaton shows with opera music taking you to a baroque universe untouched by time.
And in premier, the new high-end show “Venise la Sérénissime” inviting you to visit an enhanced Venice.
