Chinese New Year 2018 in Paris 3rd arrondissement, Le Marais neighborhood

From February 12 to 17, 2018, the Chinese New Year is back in Paris 3rd arrondissement. Over a week of culture and festive event expects you: exhibition, workshops, conferences, music and martial arts are provided this year.

Le Marais neighborhood invites you to celebrate the Chinese New Year 2018 in the 3rd arrondissement in Paris. This edition, held for the year of the Dog, promises a large range of colorful animations allowing you to discover a rich and fascinating culture. Careful though, the Chinese New Year’s parade, usually taking over the Place de la République, won’t be happening this year.

On the menu of the Chinese New Year week:

From February 12 to 17: Chinese artists’ paintings exhibition

Monday February 12
7 p.m.: classic piano concert by young artists from the Comité International de la Jeunesse [International Committee on Youth]

Tuesday February 13
4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: Calligraphy workshop by Mrs. Ho from the “Passeport pour la Chine” association
6 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Origami workshop by Mr. Delalandre from the “Mouvement Français des Plieurs de Papier” association
7 p.m.: In partnership with the Chinese LGBT week, conference by Yu Zhou and Sergio Costa on the history of the Chinese pop song.

Wednesday February 14: program devoted to kids
2 p.m.: Dog masks creation workshop by Mrs. Xu Ping from the “France Chine Culture” association
3 p.m. and 4 p.m.: tales read at Marguerite Audoux library
4 p.m.: Kpop class by Mrs. Jianling from the “France Chine Culture” association

Thursday February 15
7 p.m.: Whishes ceremony to the Chinese community that will start by a Lion Dance in the main courtyard of the city hall, followed by a show of traditional dances at the community center.

Friday February 16
10:30 a.m. / 11:30 a.m.: Gu Qi Dao discovery workshop with Master Gu Ji
11:30 a.m. / 12:30 p.m.: Qi Qong class by the “France Chine Culture” association
12:30 p.m. / 13:30 p.m.: Therapeutic Gigong presentation by Michel Leroy from “Passeport pour la Chine”.

Please note that all events will be held at the 3rd arrondissement city hall in partnership with the festive events committee of the 3rd arrondissement, Visions France, Marguerite Audoux library and the many associations of the neighborhood.
