Sumo: a free exhibition exploring this ancient martial art at the Japanese Cultural Center

In conjunction with the Paris Sumo Tournament taking place in the capital this summer, the Maison de la Culture du Japon is mounting a free exhibition devoted to this ancient martial art. From June 9 to September 26, 2026, discover "Sumo, Sacred Forces," a photographic installation by Bruno Aveillan.

Sumo, the famous Japanese wrestling sport, returns to France after an absence of over 30 years! On Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14, 2026, the Accor Arena will host the Paris Sumo Tournament. It's an opportunity to discover some of the best first-division Sumo wrestlers in the capital, and to learn more about this age-old tradition, truly rooted in Japanese history.
