Start your All Saints' Day vacation with a visit just a few kilometers from Paris. Head for Sèvres to discover a very special winegrower's house. Built at the end of the 17th century, the Maison des Jardies was designed for Parisians in search of a return to nature, idealized by Enlightenment thinkers.
A haven of peace for personalities in search of tranquillity, including Balzac, it became "political" after the death of Léon Gambetta. Indeed, the great figure of the resistance during the war against Prussia in 1870 took refuge at Jardies and died there in 1882. The residence was donated to the State after his death, and a collection of objects commemorates the memory and battles of the founding father of the Third Republic.
Take advantage of the Monument Jeu d'Enfant weekend to discover this very special place, often overlooked by the people of Paris. Fun activities await young and old alike on October 21 and 22, 2023.
For this 25th edition, the Maison des Jardies is organizing a great game for the whole family. This special itinerary allows us to meet the great figures of French history associated with this house in Hauts-de-Seine. Acting, observation, analysis, puzzle-solving: you'll be able to put your hidden talents to good use in this ultra-fun event!
This tour turns into an exciting game for children, offering a playful look at French history! Reservations are strongly recommended. Shall we go?
