At Christmas, along Boulevard Haussmann, the magic isn’t in the air… it’s gliding! From 24 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, the Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann roll out the season’s coolest move: an ephemeral ice rink on the rooftop. Here, skating goes green—no ice, but sensations that feel real. Build up speed, spin, slide a little, and savor the thrill of a Paris that feels perched high. On this synthetic ice rink, kids and grown-ups can enjoy 30-minute sessions in a backdrop that’s a real sight to behold. This year, skating takes on color with the universe of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, turning the rink into a Christmas-story setting.
For the second year running, Galeries Lafayette teams up with Courchevel, which will mark its 80th anniversary in 2026. The renowned ski resort, born in 1946, brings a touch of the mountains to the flagship Paris department store for the holiday season.
Booking is mandatory, and you’ll want a modest budget if you’re visiting with family: expect €16 for 30 minutes for an adult (15+) and €7.50 per child (4–14). It’s a chance to squeeze in a moment of skating with Paris at your feet, between two shopping sprees.
And as we zip along the roof, down below the department store unveils its Christmas decorations imagined by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Between lively window displays, elaborate sets and a monumental tree, for Christmas 2026 Galeries Lafayette is turning our heads... and our skates!
