The charming village of Janvry comes alive for Christmas 2023! Among the most beautiful Christmas Markets around Paris, here's one that's well worth the detour. Every year, the village of Janvry, with its 630 inhabitants, is transformed into a veritable showcase of festivities.
For this 26th edition, organized by the Comité des Fêtes, the village is expecting between 70,000 and 80,000 visitors. An impressive turnout for such a small village, and proof of the event's renown. Between 35 and 40 volunteers have been hard at work preparing the market. Costumes, illuminations, decorations, merry-go-rounds and the inevitable nativity scenes - everything is ready for everyone to experience a magical moment.
A market full of discoveries
With 130 exhibitors spread over two weekends, you'll discover a variety of regional, gastronomic and artisanal products. A rigorous selection process guarantees the quality of the stands. It's an opportunity to unearth original gift ideas and savor local specialties. Stalls are set up all over the town, and even take over the barns for some great discoveries. On the food front, there's a wide range of delicacies, from the enormous tartiflette to Egg Waffle roblochon, aligot, mulled wine, chestnuts cooked on site and hot chocolate, all at affordable prices. On the sweet side, crêpes, waffles, but also pommes d'amour and cotton candy await you.
Entertainment for young and old
Santa 's arrival is always a highly anticipated event. Every year, his entrance is more spectacular, with a parade and lighting effects. And this year, children can once again sit on his lap, to everyone's delight. There are also plenty ofanimated automatons to bring the magic of Christmas to life, two free trains that take you around to the free zoo, and small rides to delight the little ones.
