For its ninth edition, l'Épouvantable Mer de Sable takes up residence in the Ermenonville theme park from October 4 to November 2, 2025. Located in the Oise region, just 45 minutes from Paris, the park is transformed once again to offer families in the Paris region a memorable Halloween experience. This year, four major new features enhance the already plethora of attractions on offer at this not-to-be-missed autumn rendezvous.
Since 2017, the Mer de Sable has been transforming its Far West world into a veritable waking nightmare every autumn. For 2025, the teams have pulled out all the stops with Mission Fantômes, an interactive adventure equipped with connected bracelets that promises to immerse the youngest visitors in a spectral universe for just 1 euro per bracelet. The Haunted House, available from October 18 for 2 euros per person, will challenge the most daring to traverse its dark corridors. The Train des Âmes (Train of Souls), meanwhile, offers a tricky show trail, while Buffalo'Ween revisits the flagship Wild Buffalo attraction in a striking Halloween version.
The event transforms the entire park, with more than 2,000 pumpkins and hundreds of chrysanthemums invading every corner of the western world. Traditional attractions undergo a spectacular metamorphosis: Mississi'Trouille, Witch River, Ghost Flight, Monster Mountain, the Spider and Shadow Express don their most terrifying finery. This bewitching atmosphere is accompanied by a make-up service offering services for 5 or 8 euros, enabling visitors to perfect their monstrous transformation.
On the show side, West City's Les Revenants returns daily at 1:30 p.m. with a new "funnily scary" scenario. Funereal choreography punctuates the day, creating a continuous atmosphere. Starting on October 26, a fireworks show will illuminate the evenings at dusk, adding a grandiose dimension to the event.
For the faint-hearted, the park has anti-tamper stickers available at reception. These invaluable keys keep the scariest characters away, guaranteeing a visit suited to the youngest visitors or those preferring a less intense atmosphere. This special attention confirms the park's family vocation, where "you don't even have to be big to be scared".
The offer is rounded off with autumnal specialities: mulled wine, pumpkin latte and other seasonal delights warm visitors up between chills. Themed boutiques allow visitors to prolong the experience with souvenirs bearing the effigy of this special edition.
The park opens its doors every weekend from October 4, then daily from October 18 to November 2, 2025, during the All Saints' vacation, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm. This extensive program offers many opportunities to discover the event, whether you're a thrill-seeker or simply curious about this tradition now firmly established in the cultural landscape of the Paris region.
