Halloween takes over Paris this Tuesday, October 31, 2023, to the delight of mystery and thrill-seekers alike. In every corner of the capital, Parisians of all ages will be treated to scares of all kinds, from the smallest to the biggest. Between costume parties, immersive experiences and other events, Halloween is a time to fill up on scary goodies, at the heart of terrifying myths and legends.
How about conquering a haunted museum for a special night out? This is the experience offered by the Rodin Museum in Paris , with its "Welcome to Hell" evening scheduled forHalloween evening. On October 31, 2023, this charming museum will be transformed to offer us an immersive journey to meet the museum's ghosts. The starting point for this chilling cultural adventure? La Porte de l'Enfer, the impressive work by Auguste Rodin that can be found in the famous sculpture garden.
When you set eyes on this vertiginous creation, over 6 meters high, it's hard not to feel a little intimidated. This powerful work depicts over 200 figures intertwined in a macabre ballet, with familiar figures including the Thinker, the Three Shadows and the Kiss. This monumental sculpture is in the spotlight this Halloween evening, so you can discover it as you've never seen it before.
As night falls, La Porte de l'Enfer is lit up with projections, performances by dancers and actors, and a soundtrack to create an eerie, mysterious atmosphere. And that's just the beginning.The Rodin Museum then invites us to venture out on a redesigned tour, populated by ghosts. This takes us through the Bois des Supplices, where we meet theogre Ugolin. Finally, an ephemeral bar promising "elixirs, poisons and treats" awaits you in the Museum courtyard, to help you recover from your emotions.
