All over Paris, party-goers will be treated to scares big and small, as they take part in the many outings on offer for the occasion. From costume parties to immersive experiences and other events, Halloween is a time to fill up on scary goodies, at the heart of terrifying myths and legends.

Museums also take part in this great seasonal celebration. How would you like to conquer a haunted museum for a special evening? This is the experience offered by the Musée Rodin in Paris, with its"Welcome to Hell" evening planned for the very evening ofHalloween. On October 31, 2025, this charming museum transforms itself to offer an immersive journey to meet the museum's ghosts. The starting point for this chilling cultural adventure? La Porte de l'Enfer,Auguste Rodin 's impressive work in the famous sculpture garden.

It's hard not to feel intimidated when gazing at this vertiginous creation, over six meters high. This powerful work depicts over 200 figures intertwined in a macabre ballet, in the midst of which some familiar figures can be made out, including the Thinker, the Three Shadows and the Kiss. This monumental sculpture is in the spotlight this Halloween evening, so you can discover it as you've never seen it before.

On the program for this Halloween evening at the Rodin Museum:

  • Visitors begin their journey in the heart of the Porte de l'Enfer, where they are led through a sung performance in which the sculpted figures are brought to life through sound and the senses.

  • Then, guided by their lanterns, the audience strides into the undergrowth, taking the path of darkness and encountering the striking presence of a Dantesque figure lurking in the shadows.

  • This is followed by a crossing of the Acheron, where visitors must negotiate with the ferryman Charon to continue their journey. If they succeed, they then cross the winding path to Orpheus's garden, guided by the sound of his lyre and its light, thus completing their journey through this infernal universe.

  • In the heart of the Hôtel Biron, a tour "where you are the hero" introduces visitors to the stories behind some of Rodin's most emblematic works. Visitors are invited to invent their own story, based on literary references to La Porte de l'Enfer. Inspired by Rodin's black drawings, a participatory workshop entitled "Dessins blancs, dessins noirs" ("White drawings, black drawings") provides an insight into the key stages in the artist's process of creating the hundreds of figures that make up La Porte de l'Enfer. In reference to the sculptor's practice, this leads to the creation of a collective work.

  • A free photo studio is available to immortalize this journey through the underworld.

  • An ephemeral bar serves spirited cocktails.

  • An exclusive thematic selection inspired by La Porte de l'Enfer is available in the museum store, for a unique souvenir of the evening.

Please note: this adventure is recommended for those over 13, and reservations are essential (tickets open on October 6). Don't delay, get your tickets now!
