Since time immemorial, the Celts have celebrated Samhain rather than Halloween... At the Irish Cultural Center, enjoy a mini-festival of Irish, Scottish, and Welsh horror films on October 30 and 31, 2025.

While most people celebrate Halloween, many others celebrate Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival. On this night, the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead is more easily crossed by souls, who then wander among us! For 2025, the Irish Cultural Center is organizing Celtic Horrors, a mini-festival ofIrish, Scottish, and Welsh horror films, on October 30 and 31, 2025.

Four films screened over two evenings will mark the start of the "dark season" at the Les 3 Luxembourg cinema, for which reservations are recommended.

The program

  • October 30 at 7 p.m.: The Mill Killers

This town is haunted. Not by ghosts, but by memories. Four girls return to an abandoned steel mill to retrieve stolen money. Locked inside and hunted, the secret that binds them will be what tears them apart.

  • October 30 at 9 p.m.: Oddity

Darcy, a young blind woman working in a curiosity shop, is convinced she can communicate with the afterlife. After her twin sister is murdered, she seeks to unmask the killer using a disturbing wooden doll from a collection of cursed objects...

  • October 31 at 7 p.m.: Fréwaka

One of the first horror films in the Irish language, Fréwaka draws inspiration from traditional mythology. Shoo is a home care worker haunted by a personal tragedy. She is sent to a remote village to care for an agoraphobic woman who fears her neighbors as much as she fears the Na Sídhe, sinister entities who, she believes, kidnapped her decades ago. As the two women develop a strangely deep bond, Shoo becomes consumed by the old woman's paranoia, rituals, and superstitions, eventually confronting the horrors of her own past.

  • October 31 at 9 p.m.: Kill

A hunting trip turns tragic when three brothers plot to eliminate their abusive father.
