As every year, the Heritage Days are an opportunity to discover unusual, hidden and exceptional places... Over the course of a weekend, France's history and cultural wealth are revealed through buildings that have stood the test of time.
In particular, it's an opportunity to discover and enter places that usually keep their doors closed to the general public, such as some of France's most important political centers . French Parliament, Élysée Palace, ministries... Many of them welcome us for this event.
And the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas France is no exception, revealing its treasures and secrets on September 20 and 21, 2025. You'll be able to admire the salons, the minister's office, the salle des fêtes and the garden.
The Hôtel de Beauvau has housed the French Ministry of the Interior since 1861. And did you know that the building still houses gaols used by the Gestapo to imprison resistance fighters? Many anecdotes and stories surround this building and its occupants. To discover them, take advantage of the free Heritage Days tours and events.
For the 42nd edition of the European Heritage Days, the Ministry of the Interior will open its doors to the public on September 20 and 21, 2025, from 10am to 6pm. Come and discover this emblematic site through a number of exhibitions, to the rhythm of the orchestras of the internal security forces.
The ministry is accessible by reservation only, so get your tickets in advance. Enjoy your visit!
