From March 8, 2024, swimmer Théo Curin, known for his extreme sporting challenges, enters the Musée Grévin collections alongside statues of other French sportsmen and women, such as Camille Lacourt, Antoine Griezmann, Teddy Riner and Clarisse Abegnegnou.

After welcoming Denis Brogniart, Audrey Fleurot and Antoine Griezmann in 2023, French swimmer Théo Curin now joins the ranks of the museum's French and international personalities. Known for his extreme sporting performances, the swimmer competed at the Rio Paralympics in 2016 (at just 16 years of age!) and has several medals to his credit on world championship swimming podiums.

Affected by a severe case of meningitis at the age of six, Théo Curin had to amputate both arms and legs at an early age. Armed with incredible determination, the handisport swimmer nevertheless climbed the ladder in the world of sport and emerged as one of France's greatest hopes for handisport swimming when he took part in the Rio Games. In 2020, the swimmer set himself the immense challenge of swimming across Lake Titicaca - 108 kilometers long in extreme conditions - with two other athletes. In addition to his sporting achievements, Théo Curin has also made a name for himself as a TV presenter and actor, with his notable participation in the soap opera Plus belle la vie.

To create a statue that resembles the swimmer like two drops of water, the teams of sculptors at the Musée Grévin needed more than six months of work: to discover it, visit the museum on March 8, 2024!
